Interior & Exterior Features
The Sierra 1500 has a bold presence around South West, IL. There are two new wheel options and the new Downpour metallic and Thunderstorm Gray color schemes. You will also appreciate the distinct grill, six-function pro tailgate, and the carbon pro composite truck bed. The interior of the Sierra 1500 has premium heated and ventilated leather seats, a dual-pane moonroof, plenty of storage cubbies, and ample leg room to stretch out on those long excursions. The 10-way adjustable seats also add an extra layer of comfort.
You can also get under-seat storage, a large lock box, a center console, two additional large compartments in the rear with tow straps, and plenty of USB ports. Keep your smartphone up and connected with the rapid charger. There are also plenty of cupholders throughout the cabin.
Performance
Depending on the trim, you will find the Sierra 1500 in three different engine levels. The base model has the Turbo Max 310-hp engine with 430 lb. ft. of torque. All engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The selectable traction mode is available on all trims. You can switch between modes to adjust to any road or weather condition. The maximum towing capacity of the Sierra 1500 is 13,200 lbs. with a payload of 2,240 lbs. You can haul your boat, camper, or ATV for those weekend outings. The fuel capacity of the Sierra 1500 depends on the engine. The diesel has a 23 mpg city/30 mpg highway. The other trims have a 15 mpg city/20 mpg highway.
Technology
Most of the Sierra 1500 have 13.4-inch touchscreens that are both touch and voice-activated. The screens also come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The built-in Google software allows users to access maps, voice assistants, news, media, phone, weather, and much more. The heads-up display lets you get real-time traffic information in the driver's line of sight. You can also get a Bluetooth hands-free phone, a SiriusXM three-month trial with over 200 music choices, and a Wi-Fi hotspot that supports up to 10 profiles.
Safety Features
The Sierra 1500 has a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA. You can also find a full suite of additional safety assists like forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, and the new GM Super Cruise hands-free driving mode. The Sierra 1500 towing package includes a 360-degree camera that monitors from 14 angles. A parking assist feature can safely guide you in and out of parking lots and tight spots. All safety features are camera-monitored and equipped with sensors.
