GMC offers many powerful pickups, and one that's constantly overlooked is the GMC Canyon. While this midsize model has remained unchanged for close to a decade, the 2023 Canyon is finally the love it deserves, and if you ask us – it was definitely worth the wait.
What’s New for 2023?
For the 2023 model year, every Canyon model will come with increased height plus several new additions. The first addition is the introduction of a new trim called the AT4X. This model is designed to improve the Canyon's off-roading capabilities by adding features such as a turbocharged 2.7-liter 310-hp inline-four engine, a 10.7-inch ground clearance, and 33-inch mud-terrain tires.
There's also the Edition 1 package that will add extra cameras, bumpers, light bars, a winch, and 17-inch bead lock wheels.
Performance
Though nothing official has been announced, it's speculated that the new GMC Canyon will come equipped with a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four engine matted to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new GMC Canyon is also expected to offer a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. Though that number drops 6,000 pounds in AT4X trim.
Technology
A lot of information about the new GMC Canyon technology is scarce, but we know that some equipment will include underbody cameras and a head-up display. Greenville drivers will also find an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that will allow them to control various features when traveling to Silver Lake Park or Plaza Square.
